You dont need to suffer alone, there are people out there that will and do listen but there are also people out there that dont care and dont believe in it and just think your down and unhappy, this could not be further from the truth for a lot of people. I emphasis a lot of people because there are people out there who use and abuse the system so they dont have to work and think its an easier life pretending there ill, these people are also sick but in a bad way a very bad way.

I come from a generation where you just have to crack on and not say anything but now that Im older I realise it was normal the way I was thinking and acting, This was until I found the gym and then it all changed.

And then I discovered my love for writing about it and trying to make the gym an easier and less daunting place to be if your suffering. It can be very worrying the first time you walk in, not knowing who’s going to be there and what they are training.

The tops I have designed are there to help you and everyone else get training and gaining stress free.

How The Gym can help you cope with Mental Health.

1. Gym causes Stress Reduction.

Engaging in physical activity at the gym triggers the release of endorphins, often referred to as "feel-good" hormones. These endorphins act as natural stress relievers, helping to alleviate tension and reduce overall stress levels. Regular exercise can serve as a constructive outlet for the physical and emotional strains that accumulate throughout daily life.

2. The gym helps with Mood Enhancement:

Exercise has a direct impact on neurotransmitters, including serotonin and dopamine, which play key roles in regulating mood. The elevation of these neurotransmitters contributes to a sense of well-being and can act as a natural antidepressant. Regular workouts at the gym can thus be a powerful tool for managing mood disorders, such as depression and anxiety.

3. Increased Cognitive Function when training

Physical activity has been shown to enhance cognitive function and improve mental clarity. Regular trips to the gym can sharpen focus, boost creativity, and contribute to overall mental sharpness. This cognitive enhancement extends beyond the gym session, positively impacting daily tasks and problem-solving abilities.

4. Improved Sleep Quality after a hard session

Exercise promotes better sleep quality, and a well-rested mind is better equipped to cope with stress and challenges. The gym can become a crucial ally in establishing healthy sleep patterns, aiding in the management of conditions like insomnia. Quality sleep is integral to maintaining robust mental health.

5. Building Resilience:

The gym is not just a space for physical strength but also a platform for building mental resilience. Setting and achieving fitness goals, overcoming physical challenges, and pushing personal limits fosters a sense of accomplishment. This sense of achievement contributes to increased self-esteem and a more positive outlook on life.

6. The gym helps with Social Connection:

Many gyms provide a community atmosphere, offering an opportunity for social interaction. Building connections with like-minded individuals creates a supportive environment where individuals can share experiences, gain encouragement, and combat feelings of isolation. Socializing at the gym contributes to overall mental well-being.

In summary, the gym serves as a multifaceted sanctuary for mental well-being. Beyond the physical benefits, the mental health advantages of regular exercise are profound. Whether it's the release of endorphins, the enhancement of mood-regulating neurotransmitters, or the sense of accomplishment derived from achieving fitness goals, the gym offers a holistic approach to nurturing mental health and building resilience in the face of life's complexities.

Dont be put off if its busy the time you go

If you turn up the the gym even after doing your research and you find its busy then dont let this get to you, there will be times where it is busy out of nowhere, these days are a test to you and how far you’ve come.

Always remember people are going to the gym to concentrate on themselves and themselves only, people will look around but there not looking at you, they just want to know who’s there and where. So whatever you do dont think people are staring at you, your just another gym user, they dont know your suffering as you cant bandage mental health, they know nothing and have their own problems and issues to deal with so dont let them get in your head when there not trying to.

Put on your headphones and get training and training hard. If your new to the gym then you will need to get a few things first to assist your workout making it the best it can be and so you look the part when training.

Lifting weights frees your mind

Lifting weights stops your mind running away with itself, even if its just for the 10 reps you do, that’s 2 minutes of free time you’ve created for yourself, Now get into the 2nd set and there’s another 2 minutes of free time you’ve made for yourself, those few minutes are so important to your mind.

Once you’ve been going for a while you will see changes in your body, these changes spur you on for more gym sessions leading to more free time in your mind which in turn leads to you being able to control your anxiety better, even if your just thinking about going, the fact your thinking about the gym means your not thinking negatively and you are now thinking more positive.

Keep gong and keep lifting, every second counts and every second is positive thought and positive moves forward in coping with your mental health.

Yes you will have weak days and weeks but this is part and parcel so dont let that get your down either, if you cant go dont but if you dont go then at least devise a plan in your head for the next session.
